I’m heading to Sullivan County this weekend! On S I’m heading to Sullivan County this weekend!

On Saturday, I’ll be at a women’s retreat where we’ll walk through the book of Ruth and talk about finding hope in every season.

On Sunday morning, I’ll be speaking at Living Hope Fellowship about hope in hard times and the truth that God’s plan is always redemption.

I share my story because we all go through things. We find ourselves in seasons we never expected, walking paths we didn’t choose. But God is always there. He sees more than the next step, and He has more in store for us than the circumstances we’re facing right now.

I always say I’m not His favorite child. What God has done for me, He wants to do for all of us—to breathe life back into the dead places, restore our hearts, draw us into deeper relationship and trust in Him, and remind us that He has good ahead.

I love weekends like this one. I’m an encourager, and it’s a privilege to share courage with others.

This year’s theme is Security, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to find a sense of security when life itself is uncertain—when circumstances change, the future is unclear, or what we thought we could count on suddenly shifts.

I’m looking forward to spending the day with women who spend so much of their lives caring for, encouraging, and walking alongside others. It’s especially meaningful to spend time pouring into women who so often give so much of themselves to others.

In the middle of our pain, it's often hard to ima In the middle of our pain, it's often hard to imagine it becoming the beginning of a comeback story.

But that doesn't mean God isn't already writing one.

I'm leading a women's retreat this weekend and we're walking through the book of Ruth. It's a story many of us know well because we know how it ends. But Ruth and Naomi didn't have that advantage as they were living it.

Their story begins with heartbreak. Loss. Uncertainty. The kind of season that doesn't hold the hope of things getting better.

And here's the truth about comeback stories. It's easy to feel inspired by someone else because we can see or envision the ending. It's much harder to believe it for yourself when you're walking it out.

But just because you can't see the shift yet doesn't mean it isn't coming. And just because you can't see what God is doing doesn't mean He isn't already at work.

If you're walking through a difficult season, spend some time in the book of Ruth this weekend. Sit with Naomi in her grief. Walk beside Ruth in her quiet faithfulness, as she takes one step at a time. And then ask God for your next step.

Their comeback began in a place that looked like the end. Yours just might too.

There's a version of stress you walk through. And There's a version of stress you walk through. And a version you just carry.

Sometimes it looks like the difference between having a hard conversation and tolerating something that isn't working.

You rehearsed it in the shower after avoiding it for weeks. And today, you finally say the first sentence, and the conversation flows. Five minutes later, it's over, and regardless of the outcome, your perspective of yourself changes. You did it, and it wasn’t as hard as you imagined.

The alternative? The tightness that never really leaves, shoulders creeping up a little more each week. Resentment. Tension. The feeling that nothing will ever change.

Sometimes we have to ask ourselves: is the stress we're carrying from something that has an endpoint, or from something with no end in sight?

Over the past few months, I got a bit off track wi Over the past few months, I got a bit off track with my daily workouts. One of the things I’m working on is that I tend to be all in or not in at all. And while there have been times in the past that I’ve consistently worked out 5 times/week for an hour each day, plus walked 10,000+ steps, I know that requiring that as I regain consistency would really be setting myself up for failure.

So I’m starting with the steps. 8,000-10,000 per day, 5 days each week. Once that’s part of the routine, I’ll stack a workout on top of it (probably not an hour a day, 5 days a week initially).

I have to remind myself that something is better than nothing. And small steps generally lead to better outcomes than trying to do everything at once.

So if you’re in a similar place, let me encourage you, make it doable. Start off with such an “easy goal” that it’s practically impossible to fail. Teach your brain (and your body) to believe in yourself.

That’s where the magic happens.

Sometimes we create these limitations over what we Sometimes we create these limitations over what we think is possible in our lives. It’s as if we’re saying, “because of this, I can’t do that”. But the truth is, those limitations only exist within our minds. They’re not real until we give them the power to become real.

And if there’s anything I’ve learned from my life, it’s that circumstances don’t define us.

We define ourselves.

So if you want something to change, be that change. If you want something to be different, take one step forward.

You’re far more powerful than you give yourself credit for, and it all starts with what you choose to believe.
